Bob Reuther started racing in 1948.  In the mid 50’s he teamed with Charlie “Preacher” Hamilton and Bud Hamilton (grandfather and father of Bobby Hamilton, Sr.). Bobby Hamilton, Sr., is the godson of Bob Reuther.

He ran tracks throughout Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana and more of NASCAR’s most famous tracks up until late 1963, when he retired.  He won 8 track championships in Tennessee and was the first Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Champion in 1958.

In 1990, he came out of retirement  to become Bobby Hamilton, Sr., personal pilot and returned to tracks he used to run like Daytona and Darlington.
