Final Petition Numbers
I’ve spent the last few hours tallying the numbers from the petition. After eliminating the duplicate signatures (and one or two obscene ones), we have a grand total of 2881 folks who think the track should remain open.
That represents 45 states and 9 countries (in addition to the US, of course). We had a total of 1,089 signatures from Tennessee. Indiana was second with 221, followed by North Carolina with 180, Alabama with 159, and 141 from Michigan.
Here’s a PDF file of the final list of signatures that I’ll be taking to the Open House on Wednesday, January 23, 2008. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took time out of their day to show their support for this piece of Nashville history.
