May Fair Board Meeting
The next meeting of the Tennessee State Fair Board is next Tuesday, May 6 at the Fair offices inside the grandstands at the race track.
One of the agenda items is discussion of the preliminary report by the consultant. That draft report is set to become public on May 1. I’ll be posting a copy of it here as soon as I can.
Conspicuously absent from the agenda is an update on the status of the lease extension for the track for calendar year 2009. It’s possible that the lease has been signed, but if so, there’s been no official word from the Fair Board or the track management (the track did put out a press release in March that erroneously stated that the lease had been signed).
As usual, I’ll do my best to attend the meeting. It’s at 8 am in the Administration Office Boardroom. It’d sure be nice to have some more folks there; I know the neighborhood groups usually have two or three people attend, and they’re not afraid to talk to the commissioners.
