Willie Allen - 2006 Music City Motorplex NASCAR Points Champion
For the first time in the history of the Nashville track a champion to represent the track and the points champion of NASCAR made headlines. Willie Allen of Bon Aqua, TN driving the Wendell Mobley owned entry won the points battle for NASCAR at Music City Motorplex. Allen moved on in 2007 to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and was named the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year.

Wade Allen Buttrey returned to the high banks of Nashville and made a statement with back to back championships (2004 & 2005). Buttrey joins Darrell Waltrip (1970 & 1973), Flookie Buford (1971 & 1972), Walter Wallace (1967 & 1975) as two time champions at the speedway. Buttrey driving the #87 family owned Chevrolet competed in the NASCAR Late Model Stock Car division as NASCAR sanctioning returned to the historic speedplant with the promotion of Joe Mattioli III.
